Can we "knife" our target? Maybe sneek up on out target and whisper, "Consider yourself assassinated." It would be kind of pointless to force the use of a gun at that range.

I don't know what type of nerf gun you're using, or if you've ever been in a Nerf war situation before, but the normal gun doesn't have great range nor accuracy. In other words, you have to be pretty close in range to make a direct hit to begin with (say within 10 feet or less, depending on how good a shot you are). If you can get within 10 feet, you can get a shot off much easier than going up to the person and whispering in their ear.
Plus, shooting them (especially in public), is much more humiliating than having a stranger whisper in their ear. That's just plain creepy.

I meant if I forgot my gun or something. I just want the official stance because I can see this happening: I "knife" my target, but he says, "Nuh-uh, he didn't shoot me." And then me not getting the kill.

No knifing. Assassinate via a Nerf gun or nothing. It's not like the hurt from close range.

Honestly- forgetting your gun?
Come on, take this serious or let someone assassinate you quickly.

there has been a lot of talk about darts on here...so I want to clarify what is legal...can we use guns that shoot foam disks, guns such as bows that use large foam arrows, etc...

I would say that the bow arrows and foam discs are legal.

As a retired member of CTU, I would recommend that you attack your target with no emotion. Say nothing. Feel nothing. And see nothing - but just another kill. The more energy you waste on love notes and whispers in their ear, the longer you hesitate. Don't! Furthermore, a good federal agent is never without his weapon. Never. - Jack

So, basically, if the gun harmlessly propels foam rounds at people, its legit?

Pretty much. Unless you make a foam trebuchet and start lobbing hunks of insulation at people.
Actually, I'd probably just give you the game if you did that.

A trebuchet you say, why that would make my day. To send a giant ball of foam flying your way. and once you were hit by my foam ball I would pronounce that i was the greatest of all, (bad rhyme) For my aim must be true and my timing right, or else I'll have to sit out for at least a night. And those who know will fear and dread, that a great foam ball will land on their head. If I were crowned master of this game, there would be no end to my fame. Clemson will remember forever The best Assassin Ever ;D
