First off, I love the idea, and thanks to whoever thought this up. I've got just a few ideas to throw out there.
1)I see that the original members were removed from the list, and that's definitely how it should be. You should only know your targets, one at a time. All the players on the ladder should be known only by their handles or something contrived (if they don't post).
2)When someone pulls off an assassination, they have to wait until the next monday before they can assassinate this person. Maybe not the best idea, but it might keep it going for an extra week or few.
3)Recommend that people remove their info/picture from the CU phonebook (and their clemson site, if it's on there). I don't care one way or the other, but it'll help keep things even (mine's not been displayed for a while). Being able to look up their local address is just too easy.
4)Not so much a rule, but when this thing's done, (or just let the assassinated do it until then), it would be fun to play some other wargames. If we're already going to have the nerf guns, I'd be down for a game of spyhunter late one Friday night. Also, a figuring out how to do a 2 man ladder would be cool. I got a friend in particular who it'd be great fun to track someone down with.
Lastly, does anyone want to put some money on this?

The way I understand him, he's suggesting that you not be able tokill more than once per week. I've been tossing this idea around with a few other people lately, and I think it's the way to go. As it stands now, somebody highly motivated could win the game in a week.

I think that the quicker the game progresses, the better. Many people will get killed within a day or two, and the sooner a new game starts (if it does) the better. They can learn from their mistakes, and do better the next go-around. Maybe a one per day would be good, however slowing it down to a week might be extreme.
And on a side note, are you (the moderator) going to be playing or not?

I agree that the game needs to move quickly. The way it stands now, we will halve the number of players every week. At the moment there are 26 players. This makes for a 5 or 6 week game, unless my math is faulty (a fairly good possibility). Personally I don't think this is too long, but as always I am receptive to suggestions.
I will be playing, hence my attempts to remain anonymous. I will remain impartial and play fairly. If you really wanted to figure out who I was, it probably wouldn't be very difficult (though I've done a pretty decent job at covering my tracks). However, I ask that you not tell anyone else should you discover my identity. A few people know who I am already, and they know not to tell others.
Also, how do you feel about the idea that I reveal my identity at the end of the game and transfer the Moderatorship to the winner? Granted, this would destroy the anonymity...but it might be interesting to see what happens when everybody knows who's in charge.

This is a bit of a dumb question, but I'm gonna ask it for those of you who are too afraid.
Does it have to be a Nerf gun or can it be some cheesy mimic? Some people wonder for cost purposes.

cost... a legit nerf gun is less than 10$. I assume you can find one. But i guess a non-legit nerf gun is acceptable. As long as its not harmful... or cheap. I dunno

I don't think cost is an issue, as there are some very cheap Nerf guns, but it seems fair to me to allow nerf knock-offs. As Moderator says, its about people not getting hurt.

hmm...just as a thought concerning how frequently folks are allowed to kill: one week seems a bit on the long side (or perhaps that's just me)...but at the same time, being able to kill alot of people within a few days is no fun, either. perhaps it would be possible to set a half-week start point; if you make a kill during the first half of the week (perhaps mon-thurs), you must then wait until friday before you are assigned your new target. likewise, if you make your kill from fri-sun, you are then assigned your next target on monday. this will allow the game to move right along, at best, quartering every week. this will result in a game which will last about three weeks. thoughts?

Interesting. I'll think on it. The way I see it, knock-off Nerf guns are fine. No Airsoft or anything, though. Keep it clean.

I seriously wonder if anyone will have time to pull of that many kills in a single week to begin with. I'm taking this game pretty seriously, and I have a moderate amount of free time. But I honestly don't know if i'd be able to sucsessfully hunt/stalk/kill more than two people a week. I guess some people might become obsessed and want to kill like crazy, but I personally think that isn't the point of the game. Paranoia and mind games are equally a part as the actual shooting. If you wait untill a thursday afternoon to pull of the kill, you'll have led you're victim into a false sense of security. By waiting a few days, they'll have let their initial guard down, and by killing so late in the day, they won't be thinking about the game as much as the classes they just finished and the studying they're about to do. So I don't think any limit should be set on killing. With at least 60 people playing, the game will last already for a good bit, seeing as how some people will be more determined then others. And if the game only lasts 4 weeks, oh well- then we start a new one, no biggie.

I know what ya mean. My taget's schedule, combined with mine gives me a limited window of opportunity for a strike. I admit it will be spectacular if I can pull the timing off perfectly, but if I miss too much he will become paranoid and hide. I just wish his friend hadn't found out abput me. ;D
