I agree with the limiting factors at the end. Why not make it no safe zones for the last two?

another point.
An occupied dorm/apartment is the only neutral zone where no assassination can occur.
so if you can gain access and wait in the designated targets room, then can you assasinate the person? because if the room is not occupied, then the rule will not be in effect.

hmm...i like edoras' suggestion as well...this should be interesting. i also like the idea of providing no safety zones for the final two...that should make the game veeerry interesting, and it will keep them on their toes, that's for sure!!

Alright, here's my proposal for the change to the rules. 1) The only neutral zone where no assassination can occur is inside the target's apartment/dorm building. This, however, does not apply to defense. Shooting your assassin anywhere, including in your own apartment/dorm building disables them for 24 hours. Hallways of other buildings, bathrooms, classrooms, and such are fair game, although we ask that you do not disturb other classes or students by running through their classrooms or hallways. If you do so, you will be held responsible (i.e. don't blame me.) Basically, that keeps dorm buildings safe on a limited level, and also makes defense slightly more applicable. Note that even though you cannot be shot in your own dorm, you are able to put your assassin in a coma. That should take care of all the roommate/same dorm/same apartment problems, even though it is annoying that dorm's are taken off limits. I also propose the following. "Once the playing field is narrowed down to eight assassins, ONLY the victim's room is safe quarter. Once the eight person mark is reached, an e-mail will be sent out to all players indicating that dorm buildings are no longer safe havens." I like the way you think.

i believe that bathrooms, while in use, should be off limits. only when in use though, like if someone is taking a crap or a shower. you cannot hide in them if someone is chasing you, or ambush someone inside of them..
what do you guys think?

Well, if the rules about dorms and apartments are changed, then -hopefully- you won't have to worry about being shot in your own shower.
As for taking a crap, either
A) lock the door if you have your own bathroom, or B) in the case of communal bathrooms just make sure no one is following you, seriously.
And if you are taking a dump in a different dorms communal bathrooms... then maybe it's just about time you started buying your own toilet paper.
Trying to establish set rules for such a thing as off-limits bathrooms would get too complicated. They shouldn't be off-limits unless they are in the target's dorm bulding or apartment.
Personally, once it gets down to only 8 people, someone who pegged their target in the shower would get my everlasting respect.

Yeah, bathrooms are fair game outside of the mark's dorm. Too many safe zones would overcomplicate the game and lessen the fun.
And the paranoia.

So let's set the rules on dorms once and for all, considering the game starts in less than 3 days.
-Dorm buildings (including bathrooms, halls, individual bedrooms, public areas, and front lobbies) are safe zones. -Exterior of all buildings (including all outdoor areas, porch's infront of dorms, outer stairwells, cars, CAT busses, bikes, and just vehicles in general) are fair game. -Only the TARGET'S Dorm building/residency as described above is their personal safe zone (i.e. a girl from Manning is not safe in an Apartment in Calhoun Courts). -Classrooms, dining halls, stores, arenas, stadiums, post offices, DCIT, and all other public facilities and buildings are War Zones.
And as for other disputed rules: -Modded and homemade Nerf's along with store bought Nerf brand and knock off's are LEGAL. -Guns must shoot FOAM darts with RUBBER or FOAM heads. -General rule of thumb: If can inflict pain or serious damage, it is ILLEGAL. -Nothing can protect you (i.e. backpacks or shields). If you or any possession/object on your person is shot, you have been hit. If we were using real guns, a back pack wouldn't stop a bullet from blasting through a textbook and killing you, but thank goodness we're not using real guns.
Those have been the decisions/changes that are definite that have been made on this board. As for what will happen at certain stages of the game, like the "No Safe Zones Elite Eight" debate and the like, those will be disclosed by the all mighty Moderator when a final decision has been made.

It is IN the building but it is also a dinning hall. It would be helpful to know whether or not it is a safe zone for those who live in it. also, What about the dart tag darts? They have velcro tips for sticking to clothes and it would be good to know if they are legal or not for they are real nerf darts

Hate to do this, but I have 2 more neutral zones to propose.
Since theres bound to be a fair number of ROTC Cadets playing (I know at least 4 more personally) I'm gonna suggest that we make the CIC (Army HQ) and the Third Floor of Tillman (Air Force HQ) neutral zones b/c I dont think that any of the cadre would find much humor in a Nerf Dart to the face during an assassination attempt.

They have velcro tips for sticking to clothes and it would be good to know if they are legal or not for they are real nerf darts those should be ok to use, but with velcro comes lessened accuracy and heavier darts. the best thing to do is just to tear the heads off of the darts so they get the fartherst flight possible. and the velcro will not stick to everything, just so you know...

Velcro darts are fine. You could make your own darts if you wanted, as long as they aren't harmful to others. Hate to do this, but I have 2 more neutral zones to propose. Interesting. I'm tempted to say that this falls under the "classroom as fair game" rule, but I understand that a bit more than class disruption is at stake for those on an ROTC scholarship. Are these the only ROTC official meeting places? If there are no objections, I'd like to mark these as safe zones. As long as people don't just hide in them because that's lame.
